Live-in-Caregiver
Training Program
Techocan has newly established a language and training
facility to prepare Chinese nurses, teachers
and caregivers for acceptance into the
Canadian Live-in-Caregiver program. There are
two aspects to the training;
a. Language
Training
In order to be accepted into the
Canadian Live-in-Caregiver Program, the
Chinese caregiver must successfully pass an
interview in English at the Canadian Embassy
in Beijing. The purpose of the interview is to
determine whether the applicant’s English
ability is sufficient to allow the caregiver
to function independently in the Canadian
home.
b.
Employment Training
The second aspect of the training
program involves familiarizing the Chinese
caregiver with Canadian employer expectations
for a Live-in-Caregiver. The applicant is
taught how to care for children, the elderly
and the disabled, according to Canadian
standards of health and safety.
This segment of the training is
also essential in assisting the applicant with
passing the Live-in-Caregiver Program
interview at the Canadian consulate in
Beijing. Many of the questions asked by the
interviewing officer will involve areas of
health, safety, first aid and emergency
procedures.
